Francesco Biagioli
My fascination for volcanoes led me to attend a master’s degree in volcanology, with a predilection for geophysics. Therefore my research interests are currently focused on volcanic monitoring via geophysical methods and, in particular, via the recent fibre-optic based Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) techniques. I’m working on DAS data recorded at Stromboli volcano since 2020.

M.Sc. in Geological Sciences at Technologies (Volcanology, Geothermy, Georesources) at University of Florence, 2021. Thesis title: Field testing of fibre-optic Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) for volcanic monitoring.
Ph.D. in Earth Sciences at the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP) and University of Florence, 2021-2024. Thesis title: Volcanic hazard monitoring using Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) at Stromboli vulcano.
