I am a geologist and a palaeontologist. When I was younger, I was very fascinated in science documentaries, especially those concerning the evolution and the history of the Earth; this interest increased when I studied Earth Sciences in High School. So, I decided to take the path of Geology. My research interests focus on palynology and paleoenvironmental analyses.
I obtained a master’s degree at the University of Gabes with the thesis called "Biostratigraphic and palaeoecological study of the Santonian-Campanian boundary of northwest Tunisia".
I am currently a PhD student at the University of Florence and University of Gabes. Thesis title "High-resolution palynological analysis of the Pliocene-Pleistocene on both sides of the Mediterranean". My project focuses on the reconstruction of the paleoclimate changes during the Pliocene-Pleistocene transition, especially by the palynological study of Piacenzian (Upper Pliocene) and Gelasian (Lower Pleistocene) deposits of the Mediterranean area.
Research interests:
Palynology
Biostratigraphy
Palaeoecology and Palaeoenvironment
Climate reconstruction
Latest Neogene and Quaternary Geology
Research project:
